Starost stabala procjenjuje se na oko 140 godina. Podru\u010dje je zanimljivo i po bogatstvu \u017eivotinjskog svijeta pa u njemu nalazimo jelene, srne, divlje svinje, ze\u010deve, fazane i poljske jarebice, a od grabe\u017eljivaca lisice, kune, divlje ma\u010dke te jastrebove i sove. \u0160uma je i vrijedno stani\u0161te orla \u0161tekavca.<br \/>\nPodru\u010dje posebnog rezervata \u0161umske vegetacije \u010cesma jedno je od tipi\u010dnih stani\u0161ta hrasta lu\u017enjaka u Hrvatskoj, u kojemu je prisutno su\u0161enje hrasta lu\u017enjaka. Regulacijom rijeke \u010cesme znatno je promijenjen njen tok pa su nastala duga i ravna korita, a stari krivudavi tok ostao je u \u0161umi i na \u010distinama kao meandar u kojemu se zadr\u017eava voda. Ukupna povr\u0161ina rezervata iznosi 50,84 ha, nalazi se na isto\u010dnom dijelu Zagreba\u010dke \u017eupanije, na podru\u010dju op\u0107ine Farka\u0161evac, a za\u0161ti\u0107eno je 1982. godine.<br \/>\nU \u0161umama hrasta lu\u017enjaka svoj dom je prona\u0161ao i orao \u0161tekavac najve\u0107i orao u Europi. Spada u ugro\u017eene vrste i zakonom je za\u0161ti\u0107en, a procjenjuje se da u Hrvatskoj \u017eivi oko 150 parova. Najubojitije oru\u017eje orla \u0161tekavca su o\u0161tre kand\u017ee na nogama kojima mo\u017ee ugrabiti plijen i odnijeti ga u gnijezdo ili na neko mirnije mjesto. Cijeli \u017eivot \u017eivi u paru, a povezanost izme\u0111u partnera u\u010dvr\u0161\u0107uje se svadbenim letovima.
